The TMNT live in the storm sewers in New York city, and keep the city clean of criminals, evil forces and alien invaders. It’s a tough job. Not only that, they pretty much hide from society, because they probably would not be accepted as they are, since they look like turtles. Who would believe that?

The ninja turtles are trained by their sensei rat mentor, Splinter, who is a Japanese mutant rat, and taught the turtles ninjutsu in order to protect themselves and overcome their enemies. And they use this art well, and wear belts to help prove that they use this weapon of self-defense wisely.

The nina turtles are hugely popular. They’ve now got movies, comic books, toys, cartoons, video games and more modeled after themselves. That’s a lot of fame for four good turtle hoodlums from New York city!
